All AOB scrip comes in $10.00 increments
unless otherwise stated. There is a $10.00 cash
handling charge per order to cover standard UPS

A Word About Tipping...
Restaurant wait staff don't use barter.
They work hard for their cash. A good trader
tips well (minimum 15% gratuity). Be sure
you're welcomed back with a smile.
*Qualifications
necessary to be a Member in Good Standing: You must
have a positive trade balance, be current on all
cash fees, and provide your product or service 100%
trade at fair market cash prices.
Multiple Scrip is
issued in $10.00 denomination and accepted at numerous establishments listed on the
current Scrip List. Order from AOB.
Ambassador Scrip
is issued in $10.00 denomination and imprinted with
the name of the restaurant. It may be used
only that particular establishment. Ambassador Dining scrip must be ordered
for each restaurant accepting only Ambassador scrip.
Ambassador scrip
is imprinted with the name of the restaurant and the
account name of the AOB member purchasing it.

options--try solyanka (diced beef, sausage,

House-made beef dumplings such as manty and
pelmeni, lamb- and potato-stuffed hand pies
known as samsy, deep bowls of bright red
borscht, lamby shorpa, house-baked lepeshka
bread, and lagman, a soupy, garlicky bowl of
noodles topped with lamb, daikon, banana
peppers, and tomatoes. Lots of lamb, lots of
beef and everything can be amped up with a mix
of white vinegar and garlicky chilli paste

The Redhead Piano Bar:

seats are around the rectangular bar that dominates

Star of Siam:
Located just off the bustle
of Michigan Avenue, is a must for anyone who
loves Thai food. The space is very open, with
red brick and exposed pipes, which are painted
red to match the brick. The color scheme is
carried through in the red cushions and colorful
wall hangings.
Not your usual place to go for Thai food,
"Star of Siam" serves a
standard Thai menu in an urban warehouse setting
rather than in a storefront dive. This has led
one reviewer to call it "yuppie-Thai," which is,
perhaps, not so far off the mark given the
young, urban, professional crowd often found
dining here.
